Astronomer and science educator John Miller of Pearl Observatories will be bringing his unique Prehistoric Ocean Fossil Dig to our second graders.
While fossil hunting for giant Meglodon Shark Teeth, Miller retrieved lots of of fossil material, which he will be bringing to the school to share with the second grade classes. The fossil stuff is loaded with shark teeth, coral, sea urchin spines, bones and more. All the fossils are up to 20 million years old.
In this 4 day residency children will:
- Learn about the pre-historic ocean
- Dig up fossil stuff including shark teeth!
- Keep whatever fossil material they dig up.
- Build a giant model of a Meglodon Shark
