The 4th graders just finished an exciting residency with internationally renowned musician, composer, and ethnomusicologist Andy Wasserman. In his program “The Voice of Unity,”Andy introduces the students to instruments from around the world, including China, Japan, Africa, and the Middle East. He also imparts an important message about global unity and understanding.
The residency culminated in an exciting all-school assembly during which the 4th graders demonstrated instruments from several countries. Many 4th grade parents were in attendance as well and got a taste of what Andy shares with the children. Andy finished the assembly with his inspiring “Voice of Unity” song: “Every time we clap our hands (CLAP), every time we stomp our feet (STOMP), every time we raise our voice (HEY!), we share unity (UNITY). Help me spread unity, unity.”
