In this 4-day residency with award-winning author/illustrator Kevin Pyle, 5th grade students will learn how to create characters, build worlds, and tell their stories with words and pictures. This class will introduce students to many of the narrative tools unique to graphic novels such as the visual representation of complex emotions, the identification and use of visual story-telling devices, and the use of gesture and appearance to communicate the complexities of characters.
